Healthier Pets, Happier People
Our Values
Quality | Safety | Convenience | Kindness
For more than 25 years, Central Providence Veterinary Hospital has proudly cared for the pets and families of South Charlotte. Since opening our doors in
2000, we've built our reputation on a simple philosophy: Healthier Pets, Happier People. Every day, our team works toward that goal by combining exceptional veterinary medicine with genuine compassion, outstanding customer service, and lasting relationships.
Pet owners from Charlotte, Matthews, Ballantyne, Pineville, Weddington, Waxhaw, and surrounding communities choose our animal hospital because they know they'll receive experienced, personalized care from a team that truly cares. Many of our clients have trusted us with multiple generations of pets, and we're honored by the confidence they've placed in us over the years.
Founded by Dr. David Booker, Central Providence Veterinary Hospital was built with the vision of providing exceptional veterinary medicine in a friendly, accessible environment. In 2022, the practice was entrusted to Dr. Cierra Tabony, who had worked alongside Dr. Booker for years while caring for his patients during his vacations. Today, Dr. Tabony and our dedicated team are proud to continue that legacy while continually investing in advanced medicine, exceptional client service, and the relationships that have made our hospital a trusted part of the Charlotte community.
Experienced Care You Can Trust

Our veterinarians bring more than 50 years of combined clinical experience, allowing us to provide thoughtful recommendations based on decades of hands-on patient care while embracing the latest advances in veterinary medicine. We believe every pet deserves individualized care, and every family deserves the time and information needed to make confident healthcare decisions.
At Central Providence Veterinary Hospital, your visit should feel comfortable and familiar—like stopping by an old friend's house. We take the time to get to know you and your pet, explain our recommendations clearly, answer your questions, and develop treatment plans that fit both your pet's needs and your family's goals.
Modern Veterinary Medicine with a Personal Touch
While our atmosphere is warm and welcoming, our medicine is modern. We offer comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, including:
- Wellness and preventive care

- Vaccinations and health screenings
- Digital diagnostic imaging
- In-house laboratory testing
- Advanced dental care at lower-than-typical prices
- Soft tissue surgery
- Laser therapy for arthritis, wound healing, and pain management
- Acupuncture and chiropractic care
- Rehabilitation and physical therapy
- Senior pet care and chronic disease management
For patients needing specialized care, we regularly welcome a board-certified veterinary surgeon for advanced surgical procedures and a board-certified internal medicine specialist for abdominal ultrasounds and case consultations. Our own Dr. Krupp is certified in veterinary rehabilitation and physical therapy, providing additional expertise for pets with orthopedic, neurologic, and mobility challenges.
Compassion, Convenience, and Exceptional Service
We understand that life is busy, so we work hard to make excellent veterinary care convenient. Our first appointments begin at 7:30 a.m., making it easy to bring your pet in before work, and same-day appointments are frequently available for sick pets and urgent concerns.
Unlike many larger corporate veterinary practices, we focus on building lasting relationships with our clients. We want to know you, understand your pet's unique personality, and partner with you throughout every stage of life. By combining personalized attention with efficient service, we're able to provide outstanding care while respecting your time.
A Culture of Caring
Everything we do is guided by our core values of Quality, Safety, Convenience, and Kindness. We believe veterinary medicine is about more than diagnosing and treating illness—it's about caring for people as much as their pets.
Our culture is one of compassion and respect for our patients, our clients, and one another. Whether you're visiting us for a routine wellness exam or navigating a difficult medical diagnosis, our goal is to provide an experience that is informative, supportive, and centered around what's best for your family.
Proud to Be Part of the South Charlotte Community
We're grateful to serve one of Charlotte's most vibrant communities. Conveniently located on Providence Road just north of I-485, with easy access and ample parking near Harris Teeter and Lowe's, our hospital is designed to make every visit as stress-free as possible.
We also enjoy giving back to the community through seasonal pet photo events, referral appreciation programs, monthly client raffle baskets, and other activities that celebrate the special bond between pets and the people who love them.
Dr. Tabony has been recognized among Charlotte's top veterinarians and has been featured in Providence Plantation Magazine, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing trusted veterinary care for our community.
